Living with Rosacea Jan:11
Rosacea is a chronic skin condition of the face most commonly seen in fair-skinned individuals. It is characterized by a tendency to flush and blush after exposure to trigger factors such as stress, sunlight, spicy foods and alcohol. Over time the flush may develop into persistent inflammatory pimples.
Many dermatologists treat rosacea by recommending that you avoid trigger factors, take oral antibiotics and/or use topical medications. Laser technology treatments may be used to combat redness. Vancouver dermatologist Jason Rivers also highly recommends a gentle rosacea skin care regime.
Nature's Relief for Rosacea
Pacific Dermaesthetics now has an effective rosacea skin care regime for our patients. Nature has provided us with rosacea-healing ingredients such as antioxidants, antibiotics, anti-inflammatories, as well as anti-fungal and healing activities. Dr. Rivers’ Riversol Rosacea Protocol is a hypoallergenic, uncomplicated skin care system that has enabled some users to reduce or eliminate the use of drugs to manage their rosacea, plus produces great anti-aging results.
The Rosacea Protocol skin care system includes the Soothing Foaming Gel Cleanser, Daily Moisturizing Cream and Protective Serum in two formulas, for normal and oily skin. All Riversol products are formulated without drugs, fragrances or dyes.
With extremely sensitive skin such as rosacea skin, it’s best to gradually introduce any new skin care program. Begin by using the cleanser and moisturizer once every other day for the first week. In the second week, work up to using the Riversol Rosacea products once per day. In the third week, use the products twice per day. Once your skin has adjusted to the cleanser and moisturizer, introduce the serum in the same manner over the next three weeks.
